Earth Egg transformation
It has been 28 days since I started this experiment by placing a print of a mycorrhizal Puffball fungi in a fish tank with spores from the actual fungi that was photographed. I wanted to see what transformation might take place when you remove the sterility of scientific procedure. The result is spectacular, and the diversity of organisms is quite astounding. I imagine that some were brought by air, some by ant, and others were perhaps already present in the paper and tank.
I'm looking forward to my next meeting with mycologist and microbiologist Sandra Tuszynska to identify and discuss this abundance of surprising little organisms. But I think I've just grown my first slime moulds. They are beautiful.
